Day 1
We depart the local area and travel to the south coast to catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight, arriving at our hotel in Bembridge mid-afternoon.
|Day 2
This morning, we enjoy a visit to Ventnor Botanical Gardens: 22 acres of stunning gardens located within the unique micro-climate of the Ventnor Undercliff. This unique location is overlooked by tall cliffs to the North and the English Channel to the South, which provides a mild climate with only 28 inches of average rainfall. This afternoon, we enjoy a visit to Shanklin Old Town with its host of independent shops, restaurants, and pubs.
|Day 3
Enjoy the day at leisure. Make the most of the hotel's leisure facilities, take a stroll through the 23 acres of stunning grounds with landscaped Spanish Gardens, or wander along the tranquil eastern shore and watch the boats drift by.
|Day 4
After a leisurely breakfast we visit Quarr Abbey, home to Benedictine Monks. The Abbey is situated within 200 beautiful acres of pasture, woodlands, coastline, and formal gardens, with a visitor centre, tea room and medieval ruins to explore. We continue onto the picturesque seaside town of Ryde, inspiration to the Beatles hit song "Ticket to Ride." Stroll along the golden sands or browse the quirky shops along the high street.
|Day 5
We catch the ferry and make our way home, arriving back late afternoon.
