Day 1
We make our journey north to Derby, where we have time at leisure to do Christmas shopping or visit the local attractions. We arrive at the 4* Mickleover Court Hotel with time to unpack and settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
This morning, we make the short journey to Bakewell, where we have time to look around the town and enjoy a coffee break, perhaps with a slice of Bakewell tart from the Original Pudding Shop. From Bakewell we make our way to the "Palace of the Peaks" Chatsworth House, home to the family of the Dukes of Devonshire since 1549. Enjoy their legendary festive displays, which include lights and decorations. This year's theme is to be confirmed. Explore their gift shop for Christmas gift ideas and enjoy a warming drink in the café.
|Day 3
After a leisurely breakfast we make our make our way to Meadowhall, Sheffield's huge indoor shopping centre - the largest in Yorkshire, it has got pretty much any big retailer you can think of under its roof.
|Day 4
Today we make our journey home making a stop at the picturesque town of Stamford, with its unique blend of history and Georgian architecture. We return home mid-afternoon.
