Day 1
We make our journey and with a stop on route picturesque town of Stamford, with its unique blend of history and Georgian architecture, we arrive at the 4* Holiday Inn South Normanton Hotel with time to unpack and settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
This morning, we make the short journey to Bakewell, where we have time to look around the town and enjoy a coffee break, perhaps with a slice of Bakewell tart from the Original Pudding Shop. From Bakewell we make our way to the "Palace of the Peaks", Chatsworth House, home to the family of the Dukes of Devonshire since 1549. Enjoy their legendary festive displays, which include lights and decorations. This year's theme is to be confirmed. Explore their gift shop for Christmas gift ideas and enjoy a warming drink in the café.
|Day 3
Today we make our journey home, making a stop on route in the Cathedral city of Leicester, well known for being the final resting place of Richard III, the city centre has a selection of shops as well as the annual Christmas Markets. We return home mid-afternoon.
