DETAILED OVERVIEW
ITINERARY
Day 1
We depart the local area and make our way to Batsford Arboretum. Autumn brings with it a riot of leaf colour ranging from deep butter yellow through to orange reds and crimsons as well as an abundance of berries. Batsford is a natural fireworks spectacular throughout the autumn months. We arrive at the 4* Cheltenham Chase Hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
We enjoy a scenic tour of the honey-coloured limestone towns and villages of the Cotswolds. We include a visit to Stow-on-the-Wold, with its many fine antique shops. This afternoon we enjoy a visit to Hidcote Manor Garden, where you can discover one of the country's great Gardens with it's magnificent vistas and dazzling arrays of plants and flowers.
|Day 3
After a leisurely breakfast we visit Painswick Rococo gardens; the colourful flowers in the Exedra Garden continue to bloom until the first frosts, and the autumn leaves of native and exotic tree species look particularly spectacular this month, as they begin to turn to warm golds and reds, revealing more of the garden wildlife as they fall. This afternoon we spend time at leisure in the historic town of Cirencester.
|Day 4
Today we enjoy a scenic drive through the Cotswolds to the pretty town of Broadway. From here we board the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway and enjoy a journey through to Cheltenham. This afternoon we have time at leisure in the regency town of Cheltenham.
|Day 5
We depart the hotel and with stop on route at Henley-on-Thames we arrive home late-afternoon.
