Monday 17 October
We depart the local area and catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight arriving at the 3* Bourne Hall Country House hotel late afternoon.
|Tuesday 18 October
This morning we visit Carisbrooke Castle sitting high and proud at the heart of the Isle of Wight, Carisbrooke Castle has been an artillery fortress, king's prison and a royal summer residence. Today it's the quintessential romantic castle, with lots to see and enjoy in the fresh open air. Experience far reaching panoramic views from high castle walls, or wander the moat to discover King Charles I's Bowling Green. Enjoy the tranquil Princess Beatrice Garden, before meeting the famous Carisbrooke donkeys. This afternoon we enjoy a visit to Osborne House, which reflects Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's passions, tastes and style. Ornate furnishings and artefacts from The Royal Collection fill rooms and corridors where Victoria entertained heads of state, inventors, princes and princesses and ruled the vast British Empire.
|Wednesday 19 October
Today we visit the yachting town of Cowes to enjoy views of the boats and the bustling harbour. This afternoon we have free time in Yarmouth.
|Thursday 20 October
Today we board the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for a nostalgic trip through the countryside, followed by time at leisure in Shanklin.
|Friday 21 October
We catch the morning ferry, and arrive home late afternoon.
