Day 1
We depart the local area and make our way south to Great Comp Garden. The tranquil garden space that effortlessly showcases 7 acres of beautiful and rare plants that unfold and flower as the seasons move and change. Home to an Italian Garden, romantic ruins, enchanting woodland walks and Dyson's Salvias. We make the short journey to the 4* Ashford International Hotel, with time to settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
This morning, we visit the amazing Great Dixter Gardens, one of the finest Gardens in the British Isles. Great Dixter is the family home of the late Christopher Lloyd and amazing plantings run riot. There is a wide variety of interest from yew topiary, carpets of meadow flowers, dazzling colourful mixed borders (including the famous Long Border), natural ponds, a formal pool, and the wonderful Exotic Garden. The house is quirky with an interesting history dating back to the 15th Century. This afternoon we enjoy a journey through the stunning Kent countryside on board the Kent & East Sussex Railway from Bodiam to Tenterden.
|Day 3
We depart after a leisurely breakfast and make our way to Dover Castle. Climb the Medieval Great Tower to discover the pomp and pageantry of King Henry II's court, take a tour in the Secret Wartime Tunnels, where the story of Operation Dynamo is brought to life, and travel deep into the White Cliffs as you explore the underground hospital. We return home mid-afternoon.
