Visit Kendal, famous for its mint cake and enjoy a scenic drive through the centre of the National Park to Keswick on market day. We also include a lunch and drinks package. Day 1
Departing the local area, we make our way north with a lunch stop on route. We arrive at the 3* Cumbria Grand Hotel by late afternoon with time to settle in before dinner. A drinks package is included for 3 drinks vouchers for each night (2 for selected house wines, spirits & beers, 1 for soft drinks)
|Day 2
This morning we make our way to Bowness-on-Windermere for time at leisure. Why not board a Windermere Lake Cruise, visit the World of Beatrix Potter or stroll through the picturesque streets and shops. We return to the hotel for lunch and spend the afternoon in the Edwardian resort town of Grange-Over-Sands
|Day 3
This morning we enjoy a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum. Explore the fascinating collection of over 30,000 exhibits that trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century - cycles, motorbikes, motor cars and automobilia, including Sir Malcolm & Donald Campbell's infamous Bluebird collection. It is more than just a motor museum, with the local history and period shopping displays, authentic recreations and picturesque riverside café. We return to the hotel for lunch and spend the afternoon in the market town of Kendal.
|Day 4
This morning we drive through the centre of the Lake District National Park, passing Windermere, Grasmere and Thirlmere arriving in picturesque Keswick for market day. Returning to the hotel via the awe-inspiring Kirkstone Pass.
|Day 5
After breakfast we commence our journey home with suitable stops on route arriving back late afternoon.
