ITINERARY
Day 1
Departing the local area we make our way north with a lunch stop on route. We arrive at The Cumbria Grand Hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
This morning, we make our way to Bowness on the shores of Lake Windermere, we have free time to explore the picturesque town before boarding a one-way Windermere Lake Cruise to Lakeside. This afternoon we enjoy a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum with its fascinating collection of over 30,000 exhibits that trace the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century.
|Day 3
This morning, we visit Leighton Hall for a guided tour. The ancestral home of the world-renowned Gillow furniture family, Leighton Hall is still lived in today and is no stuffy museum - there aren't any roped off areas here! The friendly and enthusiastic guides will be happy to share with you the magic of Leighton Hall's colourful heritage and unique personality. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Grange-Over-Sands or relax in the hotel.
|Day 4
This morning we drive through the centre of the Lake District National Park, passing Bowness, Ambleside, and Grasmere to the historic town of Keswick on market day.
|Day 5
After breakfast we commence our journey home with suitable stops on route, arriving back late afternoon.
