|Tuesday 4 October
Today, we spend time at leisure in Llandudno, a proper seaside resort, enjoying its beautiful Victorian architecture, Edwardian elegance, pier, shops and attractions. Why not enjoy a ride to the top of the Great Orme on the beautifully restored tram which climbs to 1500m, stopping at the Halfway Station to visit the exhibition about this fascinating funicular? Or enjoy the ride to the summit on the cable car? From the summit, there are outstanding views across Anglesey and the peaks of Snowdonia.
|Wednesday 5 October
After a leisurely breakfast we travel to Llanberis where we embark on a 5 mile return steam train journey alongside Lake Padarn, right in the heart of Snowdonia. The journey takes you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes. From Llanberis the train runs non-stop through the Padarn Country Park, joining the 1845 slate railway route to run along the shores of Lake Padarn to Penllyn, and giving stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales. Afterward enjoy time at leisure in Llanberris where you can visit the National Slate Museum (free entry) before taking a scenic drive through the Snowdonia National Park to Betws y Coed. We have time at leisure to explore this picturesque Victorian village, which is North Wales' most popular inland resort.
|Thursday 6 October
This morning we visit Bodnant Gardens, a stunning 80 acre garden with grand terraces and views of Snowdonia, full of interesting, beautiful plants from all over the world. We return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
|Friday 7 October
After breakfast we return home with a lunch stop on route arriving back late afternoon.
