ITINERARY

Day 1

We depart the local area and make our way north crossing the border into Scotland and arriving at the 3* Killin Hotel early evening. situated in the central Highlands of Perthshire at the west end of Loch Tay. It is arguably the most picturesque village in Scotland, surrounded by the most incredible and breathtaking mountains, rivers and lochs.

Day 2

Today we take a circular route, travelling along the A road to the west of the magnificent Loch Tay, pausing first for a visit to the Scottish Crannog Centre. We travel back in time to the Iron Age, when people lived in loch-dwellings called Crannogs on Loch Tay. A replica based on excavations is the showpiece of this fascinating museum as well as ancient artifacts and an Iron Age Village for us to explore. Afterwards we head to Aberfeldy where we have free time to explore. This afternoon we travel south on the Perthshire Tourist Route to Crieff where we visit the Glenturret Distillery for a tour and tasting. Located in the picturesque village of Hosh Crieff, enjoy a warm welcome and find out more about the distillery heritage before tasting a wee dram of Glenturret's wonderful malt whisky. Finally, we continue west for a scenic drive via Loch Earn back to the hotel.

|

Day 3

Today we take the incredibly scenic drive on the A82 towards Fort William. The rugged scenery of this area was made famous by the James Bond film 'Skyfall', which was filmed nearby. This route offers perfect opportunities for photo stops along the way, and we include a visit to the Glencoe Visitor Centre to learn more about the area. On arrival in Fort William, there is time to explore the town. This afternoon we enjoy a cruise on Loch Linnhe to see the Black Rock, affectionally known as 'Seal Island'. This rocky outcrop is our destination to spot both the Common and Atlantic Grey Seals which make it their home.

|

Day 4

This morning we make our way to the picturesque town of Pitlochry. This afternoon we venture into the hills on our Highland Safari. Climb aboard your off-road vehicle and tap into the knowledge and experience of your Kilted Safari Ranger, as you make your way through a land sculptured by the elements. Be on the lookout for the Majestic Red Deer, the Famous Grouse, the elusive Mountain Hare, or the soaring Golden Eagle.

|

Day 5

After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the famous fishing village of Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland. As you approach you glimpse this bustling port from the top of the 'Bealach-an-Righ'. As you sweep down the hill towards the expanse of the bay, the view opens up before you and one begins to appreciate why Oban has developed into Scotland's most popular west-coast holiday town. We then soak up the stunning scenery with a beautiful scenic drive south via Lochgilphead and then follow the west shores of Loch Fyne to Inverary. Our final highlight is driving past Loch Lomond before returning to our hotel.
