Day 1
Depart the local area with a lunch stop on route, arriving at our hotel in Sidmouth late afternoon. This glorious regency seaside town is nestled into the Jurassic Coast and yet enjoys a largely flat town centre. The highly regarded Royal York & Faulkner Hotel is positioned in the centre of the elegant Esplanade.
|Day 2
Today we visit Killerton (NT), a Georgian house set in 2,600 hectares of working farmland, woods, parkland, cottages and orchards. There's plenty of calm space in the glorious garden, you can explore winding paths, climb an extinct volcano, discover an Iron Age hill fort and take in distant views towards Dartmoor.
|Day 3
A day at leisure in Sidmouth. Visit the magnificent Connaught Gardens for a relaxing sit amongst the many "rooms" of colourful planting, enjoy the compact town centre, or while away some time on the promenade or beach. An optional visit to The Donkey Sanctuary this afternoon.
|Day 4
We take a drive to Exmouth to board one of the large heated cruise boats for a trip around the Exe estuary. Enjoy the scenery as your Skipper gives you a live commentary on the history of the area, the beautiful sights and the resident and visiting winter wildlife. As a designated RAMSAR site, the River Exe is one of the top rivers in the country for wildlife and is a feeding ground for several seals. This afternoon we make our way to the Cathedral city of Exeter, where we discover one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in England with Exeter's Red Coat Guides. Enjoy a guided coach tour of the city, followed by an easy walking tour of Cathedral Close and time at leisure to explore the city's many attractions, shops and restaurants

Departing after breakfast we travel home with a lunch stop on route, arriving back early evening.
