Day 1
Departing the local area, we make our way north with a lunch stop on route. We arrive at the 4* Grange Hotel with time to settle in before dinner. The Grange Hotel enjoys an unrivalled position in the pretty little coastal town of Grange-over-Sands, with its breathtaking panoramic bay views.
|Day 2
Full Steam ahead to Western Lake District for a nostalgic trip back in time on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, affectionately known by the locals as 'La'al Ratty'. Enjoy a return trip on Lakelands oldest and longest railway from the delightful coastal village of Ravenglass through two glorious valleys to the foot of England's highest mountain Scafell Pike. This afternoon we visit Muncaster Castle, wander through the haunted castle, explore the 77 acres of gardens and watch the magnificent Hawk & Owl flying displays.
|Day 3
This morning, we drive through the Lake District National Park, along the length of Lake Windermere to the Victorian town of Ambleside. Re-joining the coach, we continue traveling through the centre of the national park, passing Thirlmere and Grasmere, arriving in the picturesque town of Keswick. Enjoy a Derwent water cruise before time at leisure to explore Keswick.
|Day 4
Today we visit the renowned Holker Hall and Gardens, home of the Cavendish family who welcome you to one of the best-loved stately homes in Britain. Holker Hall is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside with gardens that merge into Parkland framed by the Lakeland Hills. We return to the hotel for time at leisure, make the most of the hotels' wellness facilities or explore the Edwardian town of Grange-Over-Sands.
Day 5
After breakfast we commence our journey home with suitable stops on route, arriving back late-afternoon.
