Day 1
Departing the local area we make our way north with a lunch stop on route. We arrive at The 3* Cumbria Grand Hotel by late afternoon with time to settle in before dinner.
|Day 2
This morning, we make our way to Bowness-on-Windermere for some free time for morning coffee. We board a cruise boat, and take a one-way cruise on Windermere to Lakeside where we board the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway. On our return we enjoy a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum.
|Day 3
Today we visit Levens Hall, marvel at this beautiful privately-owned impressive Elizabethan House with an intriguing history and links to the Duke of Wellington. The gardens are home to the world's oldest topiary - an inspirational and awe-inspiring wonderland. This afternoon we return to Grange-Over-Sands for some free time.
|Day 4
This morning, we drive through the centre of the Lake District National Park, passing Windermere, Grasmere and Thirlmere arriving in picturesque Keswick for market day. Returning to the hotel via the awe-inspiring Kirkstone Pass.
Day 5
After breakfast we commence our journey home with suitable stops on route, arriving back late afternoon.
