DETAILED OVERVIEW

ITINERARY

Day 1

We depart the local area and with a stop on route in the pretty town of Cirencester we arrive at the Cheltenham Chase Hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

This morning we visit the historic market town of Tewkesbury. This afternoon we visit Sudeley Castle the only private castle in England with a queen buried in its grounds - Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII's six wives. Explore the 1000 year history of the stunning castle, the 10 award winning gardens, St Mary's Church and the rare breed pheasantry.

Day 3

Enjoy a morning at leisure in Cheltenham, England's most complete Regency town whose town houses, characterised by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic Promenade, squares and terraces. This afternoon we enjoy a trip on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway through the heart of the Cotswolds from Cheltenham to the wonderful honey-coloured village of Broadway.

Day 4

We enjoy a scenic tour of the honey-coloured limestone towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Visit Bourton-on-the-Water, the 'Venice of the Cotswolds', Stow-on-the-Wold, with its many fine antique shops and the wonderful historic village of Chipping Campden. This afternoon we enjoy a visit to Hidcote Manor Garden, Where you can discover one of the country's great Gardens with is magnificent vistas and dazzling arrays of plants and flowers.

Day 5

Today we visit Blenheim Palace. The 300-year-old palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Explore the Palace with an Audio Guide Tour, enjoy the 2000-acre Capability Brown landscaped parkland and gardens. We depart Blenheim and arrive home late afternoon.
